Improve your home office
Spending a few bucks on improving your home office can definitely make working from home much more enjoyable. Whether that involves getting a comfy office chair, a few nice plants or better lighting is up to you. The more you like your home office setup, the more you’ll enjoy spending time in it working. End result? Increased productivity!
Try dressing for work
Believe it or not, taking a quick shower in the morning and dressing like you’re really going to an actual office can drastically affect your productivity level. It puts you in the right mindset to really get some work done, and once work is completed you can mark the end of your day by jumping out of them.
Schedule breaks out in the “real” world
Something as simple as scheduling a lunch with a friend two times per week can really boost your creativity, and take away some of the feelings of isolation that you can otherwise get from working at home. Going for a daily walk can also work well, but it doesn’t get you that social element that is often needed for a real recharge.
Become a master of planning
The better you plan your daily work, the faster you’ll be able to complete it and the less time you’ll waste trying to decide what to do next. At the very least you should have the next day’s work already planned out before quitting for the day – if you can plan the whole week in advance then even better! Ultimately great planning leads to more free time and less stress, hence more enjoyment out of working from home.
Keep your favorite snacks at hand
Brighten your day when you need it the most with your favorite snacks and drinks. Only reasonably healthy choices are allowed though; your favorite brand of premium coffee is alright, while drinking 6 cans of Coke every day is not (even if it’s your favorite). Other great choices include your favorite fruits, nuts and maybe even some beef jerky. Keeping your blood sugar levels steady will both increase your productivity and the enjoyment you get out of your work!
